Iowa City, IA – The National Board of Directors of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Incorporated is excited to announce the hiring of their next Executive Director, Mrs. Christina Oey (chris-tee-na wee; she/her).
Christina is leaving Feeding South Dakota where she has served as their Development Director since April of 2018. Christina has over a decade of nonprofit management experience, including serving as Executive Director of the Capital Area United Way. She has successful experience in nonprofit fundraising, event management, and operations management. Upon accepting the position, Christina shared the following:
Christina graduated with a Master of Advocacy and Political Leadership (Nonprofit Organization Focus) from the University of Minnesota – Duluth. Prior to that, she completed an undergraduate degree in Political Science with a double minor in Korean and Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
Sigma Lambda Gamma National Chair Nicole Nimmons states, “We have the utmost confidence that Christina’s dynamic experiences and collaborative leadership style will propel our organization forward, furthering our mission, and expand on our ability to empower our members, our communities, and the world.” Christina’s duties will include serving as SLG’s chief administrator, implementing and reporting on the progress of the strategic plan of the organization, actively engaging with organization stakeholders, overseeing the organization’s operating budget, and serving as a spokesperson and ambassador of the organization.
