On April 9th, 1990, Sigma Lambda Gamma was founded at the University of Iowa by five Latina women committed to creating a mechanism of empowerment for all women.
National Board of Directors
The National Board of Directors (NBOD) is a nine-member voluntary board of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. NBOD works on behalf of members of Sigma Lambda Gamma to see that the organization’s goals and initiatives are being met.
